Privacy Policy

SkillOrb Trials ("the Game," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect

We collect minimal information necessary to provide game features:

Device Identifier: A randomly generated unique ID stored locally on your device. This is not tied to your real identity, Apple ID, Google account, or any personal information. It is used to identify your game progress for online features.
Player Name: A name you choose within the game. This is displayed on leaderboards, the Forge Wall, and in PVP arena. You can change it at any time.
Game Progress Data: When you use online features, certain gameplay data is transmitted to our servers, including:
- Leaderboard data (power score, trial statistics, hero build information)
- Forge Wall posts (messages and attached game results you choose to share)
- PVP Arena records (match history, Elo rating)
- Cloud Backup data (your saved game state, stored encrypted and accessible only via your recovery code)
Gameplay Analytics: Anonymized gameplay events are automatically recorded as you play — for example, starting a trial, completing a run, navigating between screens, or spending in-game currency. These events are keyed only to your device identifier. No names or personal information are included. This data is used solely for internal game balance analysis and feature improvement.

We do not collect:

Your real name, email address, phone number, or physical address
Location data
Contacts or photos
Data from other apps on your device
Advertising identifiers

2. How We Use Your Information

Leaderboard: Your player name, power score, and build data are displayed publicly on the global leaderboard.
Forge Wall: Posts you create are visible to all players. Posts include your player name and any game results you attach.
PVP Arena: Your player name, hero build, and match results are visible to opponents.
Cloud Backup: Your game save data is stored server-side so you can restore it using your recovery code. This data is only accessible with the recovery code.
Game Improvement: We collect first-party gameplay telemetry events (such as hero usage, run outcomes, currency flows, and feature engagement) to analyze game balance and improve the experience. This data is internal only and is never shared with third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your local game data is stored on your device using AsyncStorage. Server-side data (leaderboard, Forge Wall, PVP, backups, and gameplay analytics events) is stored in a PostgreSQL database. We use industry-standard security practices to protect stored data.

Cloud backup data is accessible only via the 8-character recovery code you are given when creating a backup. We recommend keeping this code private.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties. We do not use third-party advertising networks or external analytics services. Gameplay telemetry events are collected on our own servers for internal game improvement only and are never disclosed to outside parties.

The only data visible to other players is what you explicitly share through public features (leaderboard, Forge Wall posts, PVP matches).

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you use the Game. Leaderboard entries, Forge Wall posts, and PVP records are retained on our servers indefinitely unless you request deletion.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Delete your Forge Wall posts: You can delete your own posts from within the game.
Request data deletion: You may request that we delete all server-side data associated with your device identifier by contacting us.
Play offline: All core gameplay works without an internet connection. Online features are optional.

7. Children's Privacy

SkillOrb Trials does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The Game does not require account creation or the submission of personal information to play. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through our online features, please contact us so we can remove it.

8. In-App Purchases

The Game may offer optional in-app purchases. These transactions are processed entirely through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not collect or store any payment information, credit card numbers, or billing details.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. We will notify players of significant changes through the in-game notices system.
